Resident local area forums are made up of residents who volunteer to work together alongside local stakeholders and PA Housing staff, to improve their neighbourhoods and shape our services.
What do the forums do?
We work closely with residents to address local issues, ranging from loneliness in the older population, to inclusion opportunities for disabled residents to things like fly tipping and dog fouling.
Forum volunteers have worked in partnership with local organisations, including: Healthwatch - about social and health care services – Richmond Council – about the Village Plans – and Walton Charity – about the community allotment. They also work with the Resident Council and Neighbourhood Coordinators to inspect our estates and suggest service improvements.
Each group works closely with the Resident Involvement (RI) team by attending local events, workshops and meetings. Residents also go on a tour of their local area to share what they like about where they live and what they’d like to improve. The group works to identify local needs and priorities and with support from the RI team and an elected chairperson - they are encouraged to lead projects to make the changes they would like to see.
We’re excited to have launched four area forums so far and hope this number will grow to cover other areas.
Residents based in Hampton, Hampton Hill, Teddington, Twickenham, Richmond and Whitton can sign up.
Residents are welcome from the Chessignton, Kingston, New Malden, Surbiton and Tolwroth areas as well as across the river from the Dittons.
